TEN YEARS FROM NOW
A CREATIVE ARTS ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH

Target Population:
At-risk children and youth of all ages

Goal:
To promote diversity and provide an alternative means of education through the arts

Objectives:
To accelerate each student learning potential
To develop and enhance communication skills
To promote positive self esteem
To develop effective time management skills
To encourage students to think about their futures
To encourage teambuilding skills
To learn the execution of individual and group responsibility
To expose students to role models in the field of creative arts

Activities:
To impart the artistic and technical knowledge involved in creating a theatrical production to communicate an idea

Outcomes:
Student’s vocabulary will be broadened
Students will have reinforced the importance of rules, i.e. behavior in the workshop
Students will have reinforced the concept of group collaboration
Students will learn how to make informed decisions
Students will enhance their writing skills
Students will learn how to develop an idea into a production
Students will learn about the different skill sets that culminate in a final production
Students will learn that they can make a contribution to society
